TIME ON THE FLOOR

I've talked about this before, I stole this line from Anthony D , but it truly is all about time on the floor. Now I'm going to go against this for one second, what are we talking about kettlebell training or training in general? There is no difference training can' t be a part time gig in my opinion. With this statement I might piss some people off and that's o.k. with me. If you train people whether with kettlebells,med ball,or Indian clubs etc... you must have the knowledge,education, and most important experience. Ten year experience training people with new hip,knees,spinal fusions,weekend warriors, high school athletes, and college athletes etc... makes me a time on the floor guy . And if anyone wants to find out what kind of shape my people are in bring it from the 80 year old to my rookies of the year college soccer player ,time on the floor there ready. NO COOKIE CUTTERS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

KETTLEBELLS WHO NEEDS A TREADMILL

This weekend Brian went out an ran a 5k in 23 mins which destroyed his last time 7 months ago of 31 something with little to no run training YOU GOT IT KETTLEBELLS BABY!! THAT'S THE ONLY ANSWER I HAVE. Well maybe I introduced him to the jump rope, but he's still just learning it.

DR AMEN


Last night I was watching a PBS program hosted by Dr. Daniel Amen we was discussing the brain and how it can be retrained. While I don't want to get to deep into retraining the brain what I did want to talk about were some of the facts he brought up and how it will help you. Dr. Amen went on to talk about everything the brain effects from altizmers to depression and how continous learning can help prevent altizmers and proper diet can effect depression, but what was great is that all the things he talked about which was alot the number one cure for all these things was you quessed it EXERCISE 30 MIN A DAY 5-6 DAYS A WEEK!!!!


Why this made me happy was here is a guy a highly educated well respectd by his peers and he laid dowm for you EXERCISE. There were alot of things he discussed so I recommend looking up the program and seeing for yourself I thought it was great. In closing he gave a interesting satistic in a study of 24 people 12 taking zoloft which is an antidepresent and 12 just exercising after a 12 week period the result were the same, he went on to say that after another 12 weeks those who were exercising "blew the other group away" there results were so much better that's the only way he could discribe it. Think about it not only was the depression so much better,but they were healthier than the other group BONUS!!!

WHAT IS THE TABATA PROTOCAL?



The Tabata protocal is 20sec of high intensity exercise with 10sec rest periods for 6-8 rnds. Any exercise can be used during this process. I found this to be the best form of exercise for myself and clients. The protocal can be done in under 20 mins this includes proper warmup, who doesn't have 20 mins to dedicate to exercise a day think about it. I personally use the kettlebells for most of the exercises, but trust me body weight in this program can be brutal. To learn more go to Google and look up Dr. Tabata hundreds of articles will appear.
